IMPROVED ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND ECO-FRIENDLY OPERATION

The machine is distinguished by high energy efficiency and eco-friendly operation thanks to the combination of the modern clean engine "SPACE 5α" and SUMITOMO's own hydraulic system "SIH:Sα", which provide higher performance and lower fuel consumption. In H mode, the same or better performance is achieved compared to the previous SP mode, with up to 12% lower fuel consumption. The engine meets the strict requirements of the European standard EU Stage V, reducing NOx emissions by up to 90% and fine particulate matter by up to 92%, making the excavator more environmentally friendly and better suited for work on modern construction sites.

INTELLIGENT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOR MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY AND FUEL ECONOMY

The innovative hydraulic system "SIH:Sα" provides unmatched performance on the job site, thanks to the fully electronically controlled hydraulic pump and the patented Spool Stroke Control (SSC) system from SUMITOMO. This ensures exceptionally precise control of the SUMITOMO SH500LHD-7 excavator, predictable speed, digging power, and smooth movements in all operating modes. Optimizations in the hydraulics significantly reduce working cycles – by up to 4% in SP mode, 7% in H mode, and 5% in A mode – while simultaneously increasing efficiency and control. The improved control valves distribute hydraulic flow more effectively, resulting in higher working speed, excellent maneuverability, and reliable operation in both fine tasks and heavy loads.

COMFORT FOR THE OPERATOR

The cabin of the SUMITOMO SH500LHD-7 tracked excavator is designed to provide a high level of comfort and reduce operator fatigue during work. The armrests move together with the tilting console, ensuring comfortable and precise control regardless of its position. The air-suspended seat, with optional heating, tilting cushion, and high backrest, allows the operator to maintain an ergonomic and comfortable position even during long shifts. The spacious cabin offers excellent sound insulation and automatic temperature regulation, creating a quiet and comfortable working environment. The new intuitive monitor clearly displays operational and maintenance data, making machine management easier and enhancing operator safety.

All elements that require monitoring or servicing are located at ground level, providing easy access for inspections, AdBlue® refills, and fuel and oil filter changes. The larger radiator and hydraulic oil cooler contribute to more efficient cooling and increased reliability of the machine. Extended hydraulic oil change intervals of up to 5,000 working hours on the SUMITOMO SH500LHD-7 tracked excavator, combined with a high-efficiency return filter, significantly reduce costs and service time. The cabin and floor coverings are designed for easy cleaning, and the internal battery disconnect switch provides additional safety during servicing. The integrated SCR system with AdBlue® ensures environmentally friendly and safe operation, while the display in the cabin monitors the level and quality of the fluid for reliable and long-lasting machine performance.

EMS SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED MAINTENANCE AND DURABILITY OF JOINTS

The SUMITOMO excavators are equipped with an EMS (Easy Maintenance System), which ensures a longer service life and lower maintenance costs for key joints. The special self-lubricating bushings maintain optimal lubrication of the joints, reduce vibrations, and extend the life of the bushings and pins. The boom and arm have a reinforced structure and optimized shape for greater strength, reliability, and durability in harsh working conditions. The undercarriage has been further enhanced with stronger guide wheels, increased roller diameter, and improved internal seals that enhance resistance to contamination. The linear shape of the upper frame facilitates cleaning of the undercarriage and prevents the accumulation of mud and debris, ensuring a longer service life and reliable operation of the machine even in the toughest conditions.
