IMPROVED ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND ECO-FRIENDLY OPERATION

The combination of the modern, eco-friendly engine "SPACE 5 α" and the patented hydraulic system from SUMITOMO "SIH:S α" provides significantly higher operational efficiency and excellent fuel economy. Thanks to this synergy, the excavator operates faster, more efficiently, and with up to 7% lower fuel consumption at the same load compared to the previous generation, while also being gentle on the environment and the job site.

The engine "SPACE 5 α" is designed for optimized combustion and significantly reduced emissions, meeting the strictest European standards for off-road machinery – EU Stage V. A reduction in nitrogen oxides (NOx) by up to 90% and fine particulate matter (PM) by up to 92% has been achieved, making the SH380LHD-7 series excavators an extremely eco-friendly solution for modern construction sites.

INTELLIGENT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOR MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY AND FUEL ECONOMY

The innovative hydraulic system "SIH:S α" of the SUMITOMO SH380LHD-7 crawler excavator is designed with a focus on lower fuel consumption and higher operational efficiency. The fully electronically controlled hydraulic pump provides precise flow control according to specific working conditions, while the advanced Spool Stroke Control (SSC α) system optimizes hydraulic management for faster, smoother, and more economical working cycles.

The machine features three working modes – SP (Super Power) for maximum performance, H (Heavy) for heavy applications, and A (Auto) for optimal fuel savings across a wide range of tasks. In automatic mode, six adjustment levels are available, allowing for easy selection of the most suitable mode for each job site.

The energy-saving systems characteristic of SUMITOMO's unique design include automatic idle shut-off and Auto Idle, which reduce unnecessary fuel consumption when the machine is not in operation. The Power Save Control, BES (Boom-down Energy Save), and PTR (Pump Transition Reduction) functions further optimize the load on the main pumps and enhance efficiency during boom lowering and transitional operating modes.

COMFORT FOR THE OPERATOR

The cabin of the SUMITOMO SH380LHD-7 tracked excavator is designed for maximum comfort and minimal operator fatigue. The armrests are connected to the tilting console, ensuring comfortable and precise control, regardless of the console's position. The air-suspended seat with optional heating, along with the tilting cushion and high backrest, allows the operator to assume an optimal and ergonomic position for long shifts. The spacious cabin with excellent sound insulation and automatic climate control provides a quiet and comfortable working environment, while the new intuitive monitor offers easy-to-understand information for operation and maintenance, enhancing the efficiency and safety of the work process.

HIGH RELIABILITY, EASY MAINTENANCE, AND DURABILITY

The SUMITOMO excavators are designed with a focus on easy maintenance and durability, which are key for the continuous operation of construction sites. All components requiring inspection or replacement are concentrated in a convenient location at ground level, making inspections, AdBlue® refueling, and the replacement of fuel and oil filters easier. The enlarged radiator and oil cooler improve cooling and reliability, while the extended intervals for hydraulic oil changes up to 5,000 hours, along with the high-efficiency return filter, reduce maintenance time and effort. The cabin and floor coverings are easy to clean, and the internal battery disconnect switch ensures safety during servicing. The SCR system and AdBlue® are integrated for safe and environmentally friendly operation, with the monitor in the cabin informing about the level and quality of the fluid, ensuring smooth operation and long-lasting machine efficiency.

EMS SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED MAINTENANCE AND DURABILITY OF JOINTS

The SUMITOMO excavators are equipped with an EMS (Easy Maintenance System), which ensures a longer service life and lower maintenance costs for key joints. The special self-lubricating bushings maintain optimal lubrication of the joints, reduce vibrations, and extend the life of the bushings and pins. The boom and arm have a reinforced structure and optimized shape for greater strength, reliability, and durability in harsh working conditions. The undercarriage has been further enhanced with stronger guide wheels, increased roller diameter, and improved internal seals that enhance resistance to contamination. The linear shape of the upper frame facilitates cleaning of the undercarriage and prevents the accumulation of mud and debris, ensuring a longer service life and reliable operation of the machine even in the toughest conditions.
